They're not big on Hallowe'en in Scotland- it's more about Bonfire Night, and fireworks for about two months before and two months after the November 5 festival. However, we couldn't resist carving a pumpkin.
For Jenny's mid-term break we took five days to travel to the Western Isles of Mull and Iona. Mull is the largest of the Isles, and Iona is best known its abbey which now serves as a spiritual retreat centre for lay Christians. I will be posting a new page, with more pictures and stories from this trip, soon.

OK, so not an exact replica of the Gadgetmobile, even if you squint and turn your head... Nonetheless, Cheif, we are now always on duty.
Friends don't let friends eat 'street meat.' This Torontonian phrase came to mind as we were witness to one of our neighbourhood's more deceivingly delicious smells (roasting onions and pork product), especially when we noticed that the vending apparatus was made by the Toronto Vending Equipment company. The hotdog was tempting, until the sign above the store across the street reminded us of its likely contents.
With only a few months to go on the PhD, it's shoulder to the wheel, nose the grindstone time. But that still leaves both hands free to post a few pictures and thoughts. I haven't decided what exactly will go into this site, but I'll start with what everyone likes to see: pictures.
